Tashkent city, Kashkadarya region leads on number of registered enterprises
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Largest number of enterprises and organizations were registered in Tashkent city and Kashkadarya region in January-September 2009, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

In the reporting period, about 5,446 and 3,831 enterprises were registered in Tashkent city and Kashkadarya region. Lowest number of enterprises and organizations were registered in Jizzakh region (899) and Syrdarya region (878).

In January-September 2009, about 31,139 enterprises and organizations were created in Uzbekistan.

Tashkent city led on number of liquidated organizations (3,468), Surkhandarya region (2,096) and Karakalpakstan Republic (1,679) in the reporting period. Lowest number of enterprises was closed in Jizzakh region (427), Syrdarya region (442) and Navoi region (613). Overall, 16,785 organizations were liquidated in Uzbekistan.

Number of registered enterprises in Uzbekistan made up 272,465 as of 1 October 2009, of which 51,062 were opened in Kashkadarya region, 40,295 in Tashkent city and 22,689 in Tashkent region. Only 6,766 and 7,817 enterprises were recorded in Syrdarya region and Navoi region.
