Tashkent Challenger: Farrukh Dustov upsets sixth seeded Vasek Pospisil
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Wildcard and local favorite Farrukh Dustov knocked out sixth seeded Vasek Pospisil of Canada in the first round to start his campaign at the US$125,000 ATP Tashkent Challenger.

Dustov, who started with a upset in the previous edition of the event, scored a 6-2,3-6,6-3 to repeat his performance toppling the hard serving Canadian Vasek Pospisil in 1 hour and 24 minutes.

In the first set Dustov broke Pospisil in the 3rd and 5th games to take the set 6-2, in the second set Pospisil broke Dustov in the eighth game to win the set 6-3 and force the deciding set.

In the third set both players played long rallies , some aggressive service games from both players saw the score 3-3 Dustov held the seventh game to go up 4-3, Dustov belted three down the line forehand winners to break Pospisil in spite of his 2 aces in the eighth game and go up 5-3. Dustov held on to his serve and won a spot in round of sixteen.

"I started well, but hurried in between and lost my concentration, but in third took risks at important points and won" said the Uzbek Davis Cupper, currently ranked 258 in the rankings.

Second seeded Flavio Cipolla survived a second set loss to local youngster Sergey Shipilov. The Italian Cipolla won 6-1, 4-6, 6-0 in 2 hours and 4 minutes the longest match of the day. All the other seeds in the action made it to the second round rather easily

In a match marked by high drama Amir Weintraub of Israel survived 3 match points to survive against Australia Brydan Klein winning 6-4,4-6,7-5. When Klein looked like winning 5-4 (40-0) in the decider , he twisted his right ankle, Weintraub made all of his fortune winning three games in a row and make it to the last sixteen .
