Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Hosting the IV World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE), Tashkent has become a focal point for leaders in the creative industries.

From 2 to 4 October 2024, this major event, organized by the Uzbekistan Culture and Art Development Foundation (ACDF) with support from the Republic of Indonesia, UNCTAD, and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), gathered over 2,000 participants from around the globe to discuss the future of the creative economy and the impact of new technologies, including artificial intelligence.

The main theme of WCCE-2024 was "Inclusive Creativity: Transforming Reality," focusing on addressing the social and economic challenges posed by rapid technological development and the role of creative industries in building a sustainable future.

The conference program included meetings of ministers on creative economy issues, exhibitions showcasing achievements in the creative industries, seminars, workshops, and hands-on activities. A significant event was the opening of new art residencies at the Tashkent Center for Contemporary Art.

UNCTAD Secretary-General Rebeca Grynspan was among the invitees, presenting her vision of the role of creative industries in achieving sustainable development goals.

The conference also offered a rich cultural program featuring artistic performances and networking opportunities. The "Friends of Creative Economy" forum became an important platform for ongoing international discussions on the creative economy.
