Tashkent authorities urge residents to avoid unauthorized road repairs
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Tashkent city administration has reminded residents and visitors that unauthorized road repairs are not permitted, emphasizing that such actions may not only fail to resolve issues but could also worsen the situation.
City officials highlighted that large-scale road repair efforts are currently underway, including milling, cleaning, asphalt laying, and compaction using specialized equipment. The work is being carried out with high-quality materials and in coordination with the Main Directorate of Road Traffic Safety (GUBDD) to ensure public safety.
Authorities warned that filling potholes with cold mix asphalt and compacting it with makeshift tools is not a proper repair method and could pose additional risks to both traffic and pedestrians.
In light of this, the city administration has urged residents to refrain from unauthorized patching efforts and to be patient, as repairs are being conducted according to an approved schedule and technical standards. Instead, citizens are encouraged to submit repair requests via the Xalq nazorati portal. Officials also expressed gratitude for the public’s active civic engagement.
