Tashkent and Moscow sign agreement on transport cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The khokimiyat of Tashkent and the Government of Moscow have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of transport.

The document was signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024) by Alexey Hen, Deputy Hokim of Tashkent for the implementation of information technologies and Director of the Department of Digital Development, and Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.

The agreement envisages regular interaction between the capitals of Russia and Uzbekistan for the exchange of current data in the field of transport and the development of road transport infrastructure. It also includes the organization of joint events involving members of the scientific and expert community. The plan involves analyzing the current transport situation in Moscow and Tashkent to identify best practices for improvement.

Tashkent will also join the international UrbanTransportData project, aimed at creating an analytical platform for exchanging transport data among cities worldwide. The platform is being developed by an international analytical team from Moscow’s transport complex and the capital’s Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations.

"We hope that this document will contribute to the development and strengthening of relations. We will be able to learn from Moscow’s experience, which will help improve transport and activities in the capital of Uzbekistan," emphasized Hen.

According to Liksutov, the goal of the agreement is mutual data analysis to improve the transport situation and passenger comfort in both capitals. Cooperation between Moscow and Tashkent in the field of transport will allow for the exchange of experience and the finding of the best solutions for developing transport systems.
