Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan discussed the implementation of the Roadmap for cooperation in the field of agriculture.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan, a meeting between the Ministers of Agriculture of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan Majnun Mamedov and Aziz Voitov took place in Tashkent.

The parties expressed satisfaction that the main areas of cooperation between the two countries are established within the framework of the Road Map.

The heads of departments also discussed the implementation of tasks regarding strengthening cooperation set by the presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan during mutual official visits.

At the same time, an agreement was reached on specific steps to develop cooperation between the countries in such industries as sericulture, hazelnut growing, winemaking, agricultural engineering and others.

The parties discussed issues related to the organization of the 2nd meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of the Organization of Turkic States and the Agribusiness Forum, which will be held on 26 September in Baku.

Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
