Tashkent-Aero customs complex discuss new goods marking rules
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Special customs complex Tashkent-Aero of the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan hosted an event dedicated to new rules of marking of imported consumer goods, which comes into force on 1 July 2013.

Uzbekistan introduces new rules on mandatory marking of consumer goods, hygienic goods, medicaments and other products. The marks should be in Uzbek language and included to package of the goods by the producers.

According to new rules, some 44 types of consumer marks should have Uzbek language marks. The marks should include date of production, expiration term, information about product and its content, etc. The marks should include information on warranty and safe use of products.

At the same time, mandatory marks should be at the products, which have packages and imported into Uzbekistan for realization in retail market. Products, which were imported for own needs of legal entities and individuals, as well as international organizations and diplomatic corps, are allowed to be imported without marks.

Goods, which were imported into Uzbekistan before 1 July 2013, can be realized without marks till 1 January 2014. Goods, which were marked in Uzbekistan in line with previous rules, can be realized in the country till 1 January 2014.

It was noted that new rules will improve measures on fighting illegally imported goods, controlling the volume of imported goods, preventing sales of forged products, etc.
