Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tariffs for heat supply and hot water supply services for the population in Tashkent will increase by 15% after the end of the 2023-2024 heating season. This was announced by Veolia Energy Tashkent.

At the 97th session of the Tashkent City Kengash of People’s Deputies on 8 February 2024, a decision was made to approve new tariffs for heat supply and hot water supply services for the population living in apartment buildings served by IP Veolia Energy Tashkent.

The increase in tariffs is due to rising prices for electricity, gas, water supply and sewerage services, as well as for the purchase of thermal energy for thermal enterprises, the company notes.

The company emphasizes that this is the first tariff increase for the population since 2019. The new retail tariff for heating and hot water supply services for the population will be 105,754 soums per gigacalorie, compared to the previous level of 91,960 soums per gigacalorie.

Tariffs for legal entities and budget organizations, introduced on December 2, 2023, remain unchanged.
