Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In some regions of Uzbekistan, tariffs for drinking water supply and sanitation services are being increased.

In particular, the regional council of people’s deputies of Tashkent region decided to raise tariffs for drinking water supply and sanitation services from 20 August.

 From August 20, the cost of drinking water per 1 cubic meter for the population in Tashkent region will increase from 950 soums to 1,700 soums, for budgetary organizations and wholesale consumers - from 4,000 to 7,000 soums.

Tariffs for drinking water supply and sanitation services also increased in Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions.

In Surkhandarya region, from 1 August, tariffs for the population for drinking water will increase from 1,150 to 2,140 soums per 1 cubic meter.

In Kashkadarya region, it was decided to increase tariffs for water supply for the population from 1,000 to 2,000 soums per 1 cubic meter.
