Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A parliamentary delegation of Uzbekistan is participating in the 149th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union taking place in Geneva.
During this visit, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbaeva, met with the Chairperson of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Tuila Ekson.
The meeting focused on the effectiveness of collaborative work with the Inter-Parliamentary Union and prospective plans for cooperation.
Ms. Ekson particularly noted Uzbekistan’s economic achievements in recent years, as well as improvements in the social protection system and reforms aimed at prioritizing human rights.
Discussions also covered efforts being made within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals and the activities of Uzbekistan’s parliament in this regard.
Additionally, they addressed programs, plans, and new projects for the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which will be held for the first time in the history of Central Asia in Uzbekistan.
