Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva, who is currently in New York to participate in the 68th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women, met with the Vice-President of the Gender Equality Council of the United Arab Emirates Mona Ghanem Al Marri.

It is known that in recent years, multilateral cooperation relations between Uzbekistan and the UAE have reached a new level. The official visit of the head of state to this country opened a new page in the history of friendly relations between the two countries and gave a powerful impetus to the expansion of comprehensive cooperation.

During the dialogue, an exchange of views took place on the implementation of joint projects on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, international ratings, public administration, as well as the empowerment of women and the development of women’s entrepreneurship.

During the conversation, it was proposed to consider the practical aspects of the relationship, in particular, the possibility of jointly implementing the “Women in Politics” program through special seminars and projects. The number of female MPs in the UAE Parliament currently stands at 50%.
