Switzerland-Uzbekistan: Exchange of experience in the field of medical tourism

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the beginning of October, an official delegation of representatives of leading clinics and hospitals in Switzerland under the leadership of the Swiss National Tourism Office visited Tashkent. The visit was supported by the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Switzerland is an ideal country for medical tourism: the highest level of medicine is combined with first-class service. The Swiss healthcare system is considered one of the best in the world. Swiss clinics have a well-thought-out infrastructure and high-tech equipment, and doctors use advanced experience and innovative treatment methods.

Representatives of University Hospital Zurich, Aesthetics Clinic, Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, Hirslanden International, Hopital de La Tour, Neoviva, Swiss Medical Network Privatklinik Bethanien & Clinique Generale-Beaulieu held a series of presentations and meetings with local doctors and representatives of the business community of Uzbekistan. They visited clinics in Uzbekistan, including Fedorovich, AKFA Medline, Muqarnas, Nano Medical Clinic, DeFactum, Nova Aesthetic Center and Medion.

Guests from Switzerland shared their impressions of the meetings and negotiations with their Uzbek colleagues.

Head of the Project Switzerland - Medical Tourism in the CIS Countries of the Swiss Tourism Office, Natalia Warth says:

“We flew to Uzbekistan to talk about our country and look at the sights of Uzbekistan, meet people and talk about modern trends in the field of health and longevity. Today, health is a topic that interests people all over the world equally and we have something to share. Because already from the 12th century, the Romans, crossing the Alps, realized that thermal water heals, and over these centuries the thermal baths turned into health resorts that welcome thousands of guests from all over the world and from all continents. We would like to have the opportunity to welcome guests from Uzbekistan to Switzerland. Our delegation includes representatives of various medical and health institutions. These are public, private, multidisciplinary and highly specialized hospitals. We look forward to further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Switzerland in the field of healthcare.”

Svetlana Sidorenko, MD, doctor at the Clinic Bad Ragaz and Grand Resort Bad Ragaz shared her impressions of the trip:

“The main profile of our clinic is rehabilitation after neurological and musculoskeletal diseases. Rehabilitation is not only physical therapy, but also a process related to the psychological state and proper diet. During our visit to Uzbekistan, we visited a number of medical institutions, both public and private. We saw that our approach to rehabilitation is shared by our colleagues in Uzbekistan too. Hospitals are equipped with high-quality medical equipment, and specialists are constantly working on self-development and training. When I talk about medical tourism, it is a new direction for many countries. We believe that this is also interesting for our Uzbek colleagues. By exchanging experiences, we can help each other and develop new areas in medicine.”

Swiss experts recognized the exchange of experience as fruitful. The guests shared the latest scientific developments and technological achievements of Switzerland, which was useful and interesting for their Uzbek colleagues. Exchange of experience is an important component of quality medical tourism.

“We treat various types of addictions. Our clients include patients with alcohol, tobacco and gambling addictions. We are ready to open the opportunity for clients from Uzbekistan to come to Switzerland and undergo treatment in its clinics. I think my Uzbek colleagues are doing a great job, they are very open to contacts and strive for quality medicine. I think the exchange of experience and achievements was useful for everyone,” notes Oliver Neubert, President and founder of the medical company Neoviva.

The head of the international office of the University Hospital Zurich, Claudia Schuler, whitened:

“Switzerland is famous not only for its high standard of living, but also for the excellent quality of medicine. Swiss clinics use the most modern equipment and the latest technologies. We are very glad that we came to Uzbekistan. We hope that we will jointly develop the medical field and that colleagues and clients from Uzbekistan will also come to us.”

Head of the international department of the Swiss Medical Network Privatklinik Bethanien & Clinique Generale-Beaulieu clinic Isabelle Boissel:

“We offer operating room services, which include various types of surgical operations, childbirth and rehabilitation. We also provide oncological treatments. We have two types of cancer treatments for inoperable tumors. We are very pleased to be here in Uzbekistan and invite you to join us in Switzerland.”
