A citizen of Uzbekistan has been detained in possession of a consignment of psychotropic substances in the north of the Tajikistan, Tajik news agency Asia-Plus website reported on 7 November.
Asia-Plus was told at the Sughd regional internal affairs directorate that officers of the regional department for combating the illicit drugs trade had detained a 28-year-old resident of the Uzbek town of Fargona, Dilrabo Yunusova, in the course of operational search measures carried out in the Patar community of Konibodom District.
A batch of various types of medicines was found on her when she was body searched. According to the forensic department of the Sughd regional internal affairs directorate, the seized medicines are psychotropic substances Sibazon (40 ampoules weighing 0.4 grams [each]) and Relium (Diazepam; 100 pieces weighing 0.5 grams [each].
"A criminal case under Part 1 Article 200 (the illicit circulation of narcotic substances, psychotropic substances or precursors with the aim of selling) of the Criminal Code of Tajikistan has been instituted against D. Yunusova," the sources said.
