Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the University of Public Security.

In our country, a multi-tiered military education system has been established, which integrates several institutions preparing command and technical personnel. The University of Public Security is one of these institutions.

This institution, reorganized based on the decree of our President from 15 April 2021, "On Measures for Further Improvement of the System of Professional Training in the Field of Public Security," is considered the highest military educational and research institution, specifically focused on training qualified personnel. The main task of the institution is to prepare qualified specialists capable of effectively organizing public security through in-depth training, enhancing combat and physical readiness.

To this end, modern education is provided in relevant fields: for the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard — in public order protection, traffic safety, and passport systems; and for the Armed Forces and other law enforcement agencies — in military diplomacy, jurisprudence, economics, engineering, psychological training, and command and tactical activities.

Student admission to the university began in the 2021/2022 academic year for 15 undergraduate programs and 8 master’s programs. Currently, over a thousand cadets are studying in the undergraduate program, with an equal number enrolled in specialized programs, part-time studies, and the master’s program. There are 209 instructors, professors, and doctoral candidates teaching at the institution.

A distinctive feature of the university is that, in addition to cadets, students are also enrolled on a civilian basis in fields such as jurisprudence, economics, and psychology. Graduates of the university effectively serve in the National Guard and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, focusing on public safety and order protection. Specialists are also trained for state and administrative bodies with their own security structures.

In recent years, the university’s academic buildings have been extensively renovated, and all necessary conditions have been created. A sports complex and a training-methodological situational center have been built. Six dormitories, each with 300 places, have been modernized.

The President familiarized himself with these conditions.

The classrooms are spacious and well-lit, equipped with modern technology. The information resource center holds over 90,000 books and educational materials, more than 10,000 electronic publications. The center is connected to the databases of the Alisher Navoi National Library and the unified electronic library information system of higher education institutions.

The university’s scientific potential has grown. While it was only 10 percent at the time of its establishment, it has now increased to 75 percent. The university team has prepared and published over 200 educational aids and 120 textbooks on various subjects. Special attention is given to expanding international cooperation.

During a discussion with officers and students, the President emphasized the importance of broadly implementing dual education, adapting the curriculum to modern challenges and threats.

The new sports complex of the university was also inspected.

The two-story complex features a swimming pool, a gym, and crossfit rooms, as well as boxing and multi-sport areas. In the large sports hall, alongside gymnastics, mini-football, handball, volleyball, basketball, and table tennis, there are facilities for height training and evacuation exercises.

Cadets are also achieving significant success in sports. To date, they have won 4 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze medals at world championships, along with numerous victories in continental and national competitions. Several students have received state scholarships, and military personnel have been awarded the "Mard Uglon" State Prize.

The Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment houses a 500-seat auditorium, a separate room for military orchestra practice, a patriotism museum, and a psychological center. The President observed the creative performances of the cadets.
