Supply of products for green energy projects implemented by Chinese companies discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from China Datang and Dongfang Electric Corporation visited the Uzeltekhsanat Association.

The meeting took place with Jahongir Jamalov, Deputy Chairman of the Association, Wang Hao, representative of China Datang in Central Asia, and Wu Hao, Project Director at Dongfang Electric Corporation.

The meeting focused on the supply of local electrical products for the implementation of Chinese companies’ projects in Uzbekistan.

China Datang, in partnership with Dongfang Electric Corporation, is implementing a 264 MW solar photovoltaic power plant project in the Buka district of Tashkent region. The total project cost is US$170 million.

The guests were provided with detailed information about the current state of Uzbekistan’s electrical engineering industry, the activities of the Uzeltexsanat Association, and the capabilities of local manufacturers.

It was also noted that in 2024, China Datang opened a joint innovation center in Uzbekistan, the Silk Road Energy, which specializes in research and development in the energy sector. The company also plans to establish a cooperative institute to train engineering and technical specialists in the field of energy.

As part of the visit, representatives of the Chinese companies toured the EltexLab laboratory and the Eltex-Malaka training center, both operating under the association. Special attention was given to joint scientific research and the development of professional training programs.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further deepen cooperation, which will cover not only trade and economic aspects but also joint scientific developments, as well as the training of highly qualified specialists for the energy sector.
