Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – From 22 June to 29 June 2024, 12 students from 6 universities in Uzbekistan took part in the China Digital Exploration Tour organized by Huawei for graduates of the Seeds for the Future 2023 program.

During the week, 104 students from 28 countries visited the cities of Shenzhen and Shanghai, explored cutting-edge technologies at MWC Shanghai, studied China’s experience in digital transformation of public services and industries, and visited landmarks and cultural sites.

On 22 June, participants of last year’s Seeds for the Future program embarked on an educational tour in China organized by Huawei for winners of the Tech4Good 2023 competition and distinguished graduates. 12 students from Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Amity University, Inha University, Turin Polytechnic University, International University of Kimyo, and University of "New Uzbekistan" visited Huawei’s exhibition complexes at their headquarters in Shenzhen, studied the implementation of advanced technologies in public services and industries in China, participated in a 5G-Advanced innovation workshop, and learned about Chinese traditions and culture.

On 26 June, the students traveled to Shanghai, where they also had the opportunity to explore innovations at one of the largest events organized by GSMA - the Mobile World Congress MWC Shanghai. At Huawei’s booth, participants examined solutions and applications for 5G-Advanced networks, AI-powered devices, asked questions to the company’s experts, and interacted with Huawei’s Vice President for the Middle East and Central Asia, Mr. Wang Shunli.

On 28 June, the closing ceremony of the China Digital Exploration Tour took place at Huawei’s flagship store. During his opening speech, Huawei’s Vice President for Government Affairs, Mr. Wang Ke, highlighted that the global Seeds for the Future educational program is an important platform for studying and understanding digital innovations, fostering intercultural communication, developing leadership qualities, and entrepreneurial spirit among the younger generation. He also noted that Huawei is proud of young visionaries making a tangible contribution to digital development worldwide, and the company looks forward to increasing the number of organizations and individuals joining efforts to develop ICT talents.

The welcoming speech at the ceremony was delivered by the Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Shanghai, Azamjon Mansurov. "In the Republic of Uzbekistan, great attention is paid to supporting and developing digital talents within the framework of the ‘Digital Uzbekistan 2030’ strategy. I am pleased to see Huawei contributing to this process both in Uzbekistan and globally through programs like Seeds for the Future and by establishing ICT Academies," shared Azamjon Mansurov during his speech.

Huawei has been operating in Uzbekistan for 25 years, closely collaborating with telecommunications operators, the public sector, industries, and educational institutions. The Seeds for the Future program has been implemented in the Republic for 10 years.

In 2023, students from Uzbekistan participated in the Seeds for the Future regional project in Qatar and the UAE. The "TechnoMinds" team, consisting of 8 students, became the regional champion and also a finalist in the global Tech4Good competition. This year, the regional project for the Middle East and Central Asia will take place in Uzbekistan, bringing together more than 150 students.
