Students from Uzbekistan participate in the Talent & Green Summit.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 3 to 8 December, students from Uzbekistan are participating in the educational tour "Seeds Tour." This tour is organized for outstanding participants of the Seeds for the Future program during the UN Climate Change Conference COP-28 in Dubai, UAE.

During the trip, students participated in the "Talent & Green Summit," aimed at bringing together digital talents to ensure sustainable development.

Eight students from universities in Uzbekistan were invited to participate in the educational tour "Seeds Tour" in Dubai, UAE, during the UN Climate Change Conference COP-28. The representatives are from the team "Techno Mind," who became winners of the regional competition Tech4Good held in Doha, Qatar, and Dubai, UAE, in September of this year as part of the educational program "Seeds for the Future." The "Techno Mind" team includes students from Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Inha University in Tashkent, Amity University in Tashkent, Kimyo International University in Tashkent, and the University "New Uzbekistan."

One of the main events of the tour was the "Talent & Green Summit," held on 5 December, bringing together 36 participants of the educational program Seeds for the Future 2.0 from 22 countries. Along with talented youth, scientists from international organizations, professors from educational institutions, and Huawei experts also participated in the summit. Participants discussed the need to develop digital skills among youth and the application of digital technologies to address climate change challenges.

"The mitigation of climate change impacts should be a concern for all of us. COP-28 has created an excellent platform to unite the best global ideas and forces to launch discussions and real action. The younger generation is a crucial support for future sustainable development," noted Ms. Zhang Yuan, Vice President of Huawei’s Corporate Communications Department, during her speech. "Huawei will continue to provide digital knowledge to young talents, unleash creative potential and aspirations, demonstrate the capabilities of ICT technologies, address real-life problems, face difficulties, and overcome them."

The team leader of "Techno Mind," Nodira Otabekova, a student at Inha University in Tashkent, spoke at the summit and presented the project "Aquatibia," which was recognized as the best idea in the Tech4Good competition. The project aims to achieve zero waste and essential sustainable development goals (SDGs), such as eliminating hunger (SDG2) and clean water and sanitation (SDG6). The project’s implementation can have a significant impact on the environment, agriculture, soil quality, and improvement of living conditions in regions by addressing two main issues simultaneously: the reuse of biological waste and water filtration for irrigation from salts and heavy metals.

"The achievements of our team are explained not only by technological innovations. We understood that it is very important to develop a sense of common vision and camaraderie. In the era of technological progress, we must use access to various innovations to expand the opportunities for young people and strengthen collaboration. From one corner of the world to another, we can unite, exchange ideas, and collaborate for a better future," noted Nodira during her speech.

As part of the "Seeds Tour," participants also visited the exhibition in the green zone at COP28 in Expo City Dubai, learned about the successful work of one of the leaders in gaming development, Sawa Group, and embarked on an introductory tour of Dubai.
