Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Ferghana Medical Institute of Public Health, in collaboration with Gulf Medical University (UAE), has established a 4-year joint educational program for the Doctor of Medicine (Internal Medicine) master's degree. This was announced by the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.
According to the cooperation agreement signed by the rectors of both universities, advanced pedagogical technologies, educational programs, and methodological materials based on international educational standards will be actively integrated into the educational process.
The program also plans to conduct master classes for students and faculty, as well as involve highly qualified teachers and researchers from Gulf Medical University to conduct advanced training courses.
Under the quota approved in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, 100 UAE citizens holding bachelor's degrees will enroll in the Doctor of Medicine master's program at Ferghana Medical Institute for the academic year 2024/2025.
Students will be trained using Problem-Based Learning methodology in the 1st and 2nd years, and Workplace-Based Learning methodology in the 3rd and 4th years.
The program will undergo international accreditation by The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education in the UK, and graduates will receive an internationally recognized diploma.
In 2023, Ferghana Medical Institute of Public Health entered the top 1000 in THE (Times Higher Education) Impact Ranking and the top 900 in the international RUR (Round University Ranking).
Last year, the institute's Medicine program received international accreditation from the Eurasian Center for Accreditation and Quality Assurance (ECAQA) for a period of 5 years.
Currently, the institute hosts 749 foreign students, alongside local specialists, taught by 25 professors and lecturers from India, Pakistan, China, Russia, and other countries.
