Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 April this year, as a result of heavy precipitation in Tashkent, which began at 12:30 p.m., up to 20 mm of the monthly norm fell. This was reported by the press service of the khokimiyat of the capital.

Subsequently, a number of locations were flooded, such as Makhtumkuli Street, Bunyodkor Street, the Palace of Arts of Friendship of Peoples (the lower part of the tunnel), the front square of the South Station.

Khokimiyat notes that the flood was eliminated by the forces of operationally organized groups by 18:00.

“It is worth noting that as a result of the measures taken in recent years in places where flooding occurred, similar situations in these locations have not been repeated. Work in this direction will be continued,” the khokimiyat said.
