State Tax Committee hosts an open dialogue on VAT

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 16 November, the State Tax Committee hosted a training for managers, chief accountants of business entities, as well as individual entrepreneurs on the topic “The Procedure for Applying Value Added Tax,” the State Tax Service Press Service reports.

The event was organized in the form of an open dialogue. A live broadcast of the training took place on the official website of the State Tax Committee on Facebook, which allowed entrepreneurs to ask representatives of tax authorities in real time.

During the training, the head of the department of the Taxation Consulting Department A. Koshchanov made a presentation on the basics of changes in tax legislation on VAT.

It was noted that from 1 October 2019 in Uzbekistan, the VAT rate decreased by a quarter - from 20% to 15%. Separately, they stopped on the abolition of VAT benefits.

The transition from the payment of a single land tax to the payment of VAT by taxpayers whose turnover is more than 1 billion soums, as well as by entrepreneurs who have more than 50 hectares of irrigated land for agricultural production, was discussed.

In addition, it was noted that importing entrepreneurs also became VAT payers regardless of the volume of sales of goods (works, services).

The senior inspector of the Legal Entities Services Department, A. Boymatjonov, dwelt in detail on the procedure for filling out VAT reporting. Presented are VAT reporting forms, the procedure for filling out invoices with a description of the conditions under which VAT is taken into account, as well as the timing for the submission of VAT reporting.

During the interactive training, employees of the SOC provided relevant explanations on all issues of interest to the participants. In addition, answers were given to questions from viewers who watched the broadcast online.

STC also plans to conduct similar trainings with taxpayers and on other topics.
