State Tax Committee: During the quarantine period 55% of legal entities temporarily suspended their activities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The State Tax Committee conducted a survey to examine the problems faced by business and the population of Uzbekistan during the Covid-19 pandemic. This was reported by the press service of the State Tax Committee.

To the question “How did quarantine affect your business?” 35% of individuals surveyed answered that they were required to go on unpaid leave, and 9% went on paid leave. According to the results, 36% of participants continued their activities remotely. 20% worked in the same mode.

According to the survey, 55% of legal entities temporarily suspended their activities, and quarantine had no significant effect on the activities of 5% of legal entities. Another 6% of the survey participants - legal entities - reported that they work online.

The survey asked questions about unreasonably high prices: 61% of the participants spoke positively about prices.

During the pandemic, according to the decrees of the head of state, a number of tax benefits were granted. So, how much are tour operators aware of these exemptions and preferences? The answers are as follows:

- 86% in the know

- 14% are not in the know.

53% of respondents stated that there were no problems with VAT refunds, another 16% said that they were not VAT payers, and 31% said they had problems.

85% of the legal entities surveyed positively assessed the absence of unjustified interference in entrepreneurial activity under the pretext of combating a pandemic.

According to the results, 1,740 respondents to legal entities followed the news of tax administration, 1,306 respondents answered negatively. A survey among individuals, on the contrary, showed that the number of people who did not find the necessary information was higher: 317 answers were negative and 260 were positive.

Thanks to such studies, the problems arising from the population and business entities in the performance of their tax obligations are comprehensively studied. In the future, appropriate measures are being taken to eliminate them and prevent repetitions.
