From 1 February, legal entities and individuals can apply for reservation of firm name through website of the State Statistics Committee and receive confirmation of originality or inexistence of identical or similar firm names, which can confuse people.

Information on firm names, issued based on electronic applications, will be directed to registration bodies from the database of the State Statistics Committee through Internet. The committee said no additional confirmation documents will be required.

As earlier reported, Uzbekistan announced 2011 as the Year of small business and private entrepreneurship. The one of priorities of 2011 is to create favourable conditions for small businesses.
