Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - As a result of operational search activities carried out by employees of the State Security Service in Surkhandarya region together with military personnel of the Border Troops, a large batch of narcotic drugs imported from the Republic of Tajikistan was confiscated.

In particular, 39 kg 409 gr of heroin, 35 kg 745 grams of opium, 14 kg 545 grams of hashish were found on the section of the Uzbek-Tajik state border passing through the territory of the settlement of Chashma in Sariosiyo district and confiscated in a procedural manner.

Currently, on this fact, the Investigation Department of the State Security Service for Surkhandarya region has opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 246 (smuggling) of the Criminal Code and is taking the necessary measures to identify the owners of the drugs, the total weight of which is 89 kg 699 grams.
