State Property Committee officials meet Pakistani firms’ top managers
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State Property Committee of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with Kamar Raza, head of Praxon, and Ashfak Zahid, executive director of Tradelink (both Pakistani firms) on 19 October 2010.

First Deputy chairperson of the State Property Committee of Uzbekistan Sayfiddin Gaffarov welcomed the guest and said the Committee is always open for cooperation with potential investors, who want to start their activity in Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek side briefed the Pakistani delegation on main directions of the State Property Committee’s activities – management of state property, development and implementation of privatization programmes. It was said that main task of the State Property Committee is to speed up structural reforms, expand owners’ class, develop competitiveness of local industrial enterprises with attraction of foreign investments to privatized objects.

In his turn, Ashfak Zahid expressed gratitude for warm reception and briefed the Uzbek side on the intention of the company to start their activity in Uzbekistan through creating textile enterprise, covering of full production circle – from yarn processing to production of ready goods.

The Pakistani guests received information on opportunities on purchasing production capacities on zero redemption cost with undertaking concrete investment obligation, which are to create new jobs and necessary infrastructure for producing export-oriented goods.

The sides agreed to present a list of objects, on which Pakistani company can create textile capacities, and information on them to Praxon. The sides also agreed to hold regular working contacts.
