State Property Committee, JETRO representatives discuss issues of boosting ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State Property Committee officials held a meeting with head of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) office in Uzbekistan Hidekazu Shibamoto and newly appointed head Toru Suehiro on 12 March 2010.

New head of JETRO office Toru Suehiro worked in many projects and was director of JETRO Fukun in Japan.

The sides discussed issues of strengthening of bilateral cooperation in attracting Japanese investments into low-income and inactive objects in all regions of Uzbekistan, where new production capacities can be created in such sectors as textile, construction material, metal processing, agriculture goods processing, pharmaceuticals and others. It was said these objects have necessary infrastructure (electricity, water and gas and communication utilities), which allow to establish new production in short period.

The Uzbek side also expressed interest in studying Japanese experience in cluster development, which can be successfully implemented in Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek officials presented information on strategy of economic policy, determined by the Government of Uzbekistan and role of the Committee in economic reforms, developing economy and well-being of population.

Toru Suehiro said the main mission of JETRO is to strengthen bilateral cooperation and assist in improving business environment in Uzbekistan. JETRO office will do its best to attract Japanese investment, know-how and innovations in economy of Uzbekistan.
