State Demonopolization Committee sums up 1Q 2012
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State Committee of Uzbekistan on Demonopolization and Development of Competition held a session of the Board to sum up results of the first quarter of 2012.

In the first quarter of 2012, the committee developed and approved programmes on financial support and full use of capacities at 978 enterprises of Uzbekistan. Some 604.6 billion of investments, including 420.1 billion soums of commercial banks’ loans, were issued to modernize and rehabilitate production capacities.

In the result of conducted works, the enterprises rendered services and produced goods for 1.041 trillion soums. The export volume reached US$76.9 million and some 4,000 new jobs were created.

The committee revealed violation of legislation on competition and natural monopolies for 8.7 billion soums, of which 6 billion soums were directed to budget and 1.2 billion soums were returned to consumers.

In the result of studies of starting prices of objects, constructed due to centralized sources of funding, the reserves for cutting price for 32.6 billion soums were revealed.

The committee also reviewed 2,231 applications of consumers on unfounded growth of prices to consumer goods, and 78.6% of them were solved in favour of the consumers and the consumers received compensations for 324.4 million soums.
