State budget: funds will be allocated for priority measures

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the plenary meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the draft law “On Amendments and Additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020” was heatedly discussed among important issues.

It was noted that with the beginning of 2020, our people faced various trials. At a time when the state is taking measures to mitigate the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and the global crisis, natural disasters in Bukhara and Syrdarya regions were affected. To eliminate the consequences will require large funds. Therefore, the State budget is developed on the basis of priority areas for ensuring stability and optimizing costs.

Deputies during the discussions noted that the document must be adopted unconditionally.

In accordance with the Decree of the President from 19 March 2020, the Anti-Crisis Fund was created under the Ministry of Finance without forming a legal entity in the amount of 10 trillion soums, the State Budget funds, soft loans from international financial institutions and other sources not prohibited by law were determined by its sources.

In this regard, there was a need to amend the Law, namely, the maximum amount of allocations allocated from the republican budget to the Ministry of Finance.

In addition, in accordance with other decisions of the head of state, including in connection with the implementation of administrative changes in the structure of some government bodies, as well as taking into account that the Law on the Annual Budget was introduced for the first time and other changes arose during its implementation .

At the same time, according to the deputies, the draft Law provides for the mobilization of priority measures to optimize budget expenditures and priority areas, including combating the coronavirus pandemic and mitigating its negative impact on economic sectors.
