The aim to develop the peculiar art and culture of Karakalpak people, familiarize the talented youth with the best samples of national and world art, support the young people’s artistic talents, improve training highly qualified actors and actresses for modern theatre and cinema, television and radio served as a ground to open the Nukus branch.

Twenty-five undergraduate students will be accepted to the branch majoring in acting skills and art studies for the academic year 2008-2009, including 10 on a grant basis.

Further, the quota on accepting students will be determined based on the real demand in the specialists of the sphere. The education will be held in Karakalpak language.

The Nukus branch of the State Arts Institute of Uzbekistan will be located at the following address: 37, Hurliman Qiz Bahshi Street, Nukus.
