Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Srečko Katanec, the head coach of the Uzbekistan national football team, and the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) have mutually agreed to terminate his contract due to the coach’s health condition.

In his statement, the Slovenian coach expressed regret that, under the current circumstances, he is unable to perform his professional duties at the desired level.

He thanked the UFA for its support and fruitful cooperation and wished the Uzbekistan national team success in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

The Uzbekistan Football Association, in turn, expressed sincere gratitude to Srečko Katanec for his work and contributions to the development of the national team. The UFA wished him a speedy recovery and success in his future coaching career.

The contract termination was carried out in a friendly atmosphere, maintaining warm and cordial relations between the parties.

The Association is currently actively working to find a new candidate who can lead the Uzbekistan national team with honor.
