Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential Decree "On expanding the network of specialized schools under the Agency of Presidential Educational Institutions" was adopted.
According to the Decree, the following will be organized in the system of the Agency of Presidential Educational Institutions:
until 1 September 2022 - 19 specialized boarding schools and 141 specialized schools based on educational institutions under the jurisdiction of ministries, departments and organizations;
until 1 June 2023 - 5 specialized boarding schools and 3 specialized schools on the basis of the closed Mehribonlik houses and children’s towns, which are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Public Education.
In 2022-2024, 25 specialized boarding schools will be built in the Agency’s system.
Starting from the 2022/2023 academic year, on the basis of specialized schools with in-depth study of individual subjects, general education schools with in-depth study of individual subjects will be created in the system of the Ministry of Public Education.
The parameters for admission to the Agency’s schools are determined by the Agency, taking into account that the maximum number of students in a class does not exceed 24 people.
In the 2022/2023 academic year, admission to the Agency’s schools in the areas of exact sciences is carried out in grades 5-11, in the areas of natural sciences - in grades 7-11, in subsequent academic years - in grades 5 and 7, respectively.
Admission of students to the Agency’s schools is based on the results of entrance examinations conducted in the exact and natural sciences, foreign languages, and logical thinking.
Students of secondary general education, secondary specialized and primary vocational educational organizations who became winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd places) of the third (regional) stage of the main subject, international or regional Olympiads, the list of which is approved by the Agency, are accepted to study in Agency schools located in their region of study without entrance examinations within the general admission parameters.
In the Agency’s schools, along with the exact and natural sciences, the history of Uzbekistan is taught in depth.
Instead of the position of Deputy Head of Schools of the Agency for Special Subjects, the position of "School Advisor" is being introduced.
In specialized boarding schools under the Agency, free healthy meals are organized for students on the basis of outsourcing.
Employment of managerial and teaching staff in the Agency’s schools is carried out on the basis of a three-stage competition (selection stage, test and interview).
From the 2022/2023 academic year, additional courses in artificial intelligence, robotics, agricultural technology, nanotechnology, biotechnology, IELTS, TOEFL and SAT will be organized at the Agency’s schools.
The Center for Pedagogical Excellence and International Assessment under the Agency has been renamed the Scientific and Practical Center for Pedagogical Excellence and International Assessment.
The Center assesses the level of knowledge and professional skills of the teaching staff of organizations of secondary general, secondary specialized and vocational education.
Assessment of the educational level and professional skills of teaching staff is carried out by the Center on a contractual basis for all applicants.
Based on the results of assessing the level of knowledge and professional skills of teaching staff, the Center issues certificates of the degrees "Teacher-leader", "Teacher-mentor" and "Professional teacher", valid for two years.
Teaching staff who have received this certificate are paid an additional fee in the following amounts:
teaching staff who have received a certificate of the degree "Teacher-leader" - monthly in the amount of 50 percent of their base tariff rate;
teaching staff who have received a certificate of the degree "Teacher-mentor" - monthly in the amount of 70 percent of their base tariff rate;
teaching staff who have received a certificate of the degree "Teacher-Professional" - monthly in the amount of 100 percent of their base tariff rate.
Pedagogical personnel who have received these certificates are employed in educational institutions of the Agency’s system, regardless of their qualification category.
