Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the technical support of the International Monetary Fund, a training course on the subject of “Macroeconomic Programming” was held for specialists from ministries and departments involved in monetary and fiscal policies of our country, the Central Bank press service reported.

From 28 October to 5 November, the Central Bank jointly with the Joint Vienna Institute (Austria) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) organized a training course on macroeconomic programming for young professionals of the Central Bank, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy and Industry, and the State Tax Committee and the State Committee for Statistics.

It is worth noting that an event of this format was organized for the first time in our country. Due to the limited number of participants at the training seminar at the IMF training centers, 2-3 employees from each country had the opportunity to participate in the programs. This event was attended by more than 40 specialists who gained new knowledge in the relevant field.

Another important aspect of this training course - within its framework, the main attention was paid to strengthening the potential of young specialists in the field of macroeconomic analysis and forecasting, which are important at the current stage of the country's economic reforms, as well as in developing scenarios for the development of the national economy.

In particular, the topics covered in the training course are:

- analysis of the current situation and processes in the economy, identification of existing imbalances in the economy, assessment of the impact of monetary and fiscal policies on macroeconomic stability;

- development of scenarios of economic development, forecasting macroeconomic indicators for the short and medium term, taking into account the relationship between different sectors of the economy (real sector, fiscal, monetary, foreign trade sector);

- analysis of the state of foreign economic operations of the country, identifying the weaknesses of the balance of payments and developing proposals for their elimination, forecasting the balance of payments and other topics.

As a result of the training course, all specialists of ministries and departments were awarded certificates of the IMF Joint Vienna Institute.

In the future, the Central Bank plans to organize such courses in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund on an ongoing basis.
