Specialists from the Maternal and Child Health Center and its branches undergo training in St. Petersburg

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 30 October to 11 November, 12 specialists from institutions of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Maternal and Child Health (RSNPMCZMiR) and its regional branches were trained in St. Petersburg.

Doctors from Uzbekistan studied a simulation course “Clinical Obstetrics”, designed for 72 hours, on the basis of the Russian National Medical Research Center named after V.A. Almazova.

Advanced training of Uzbek specialists in the best foreign medical organizations is provided for by the state policy in the field of healthcare. This makes it possible to effectively master the best foreign experience, innovative techniques with the subsequent introduction of modern technologies in all regions of Uzbekistan. This time the delegation included representatives of Tashkent, Karshi, Samarkand, Bukhara, Kokand, Andijan, Nukus - specialists from the State Institution “RSNPMCZMiR” and its regional branches.

Cooperation with the St. Petersburg National Medical Research Center named after. V.A. Almazov received new development after the signing on 22 September 2023 of a memorandum of cooperation in the field of educational and research activities.

It should be noted that the National Medical Research Center named after V. A. Almazov is one of the largest scientific and medical institutions in the Russian Federation, which is included in the top hundred of the best educational institutions in the world in the international Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2023.

“The Almazov Center specializes in the management of pregnant women with cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus and endocrinopathies. And the exchange of accumulated experience and knowledge with specialists from Uzbekistan is aimed at introducing advanced technologies in the management of such patients, increasing women’s satisfaction with the medical care provided,” the head noted. Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology with the clinic of the National Medical Research Center named after V.A. Almazova Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Irina Zazerskaya.

During the educational course, specialists from Uzbekistan became familiar with modern technologies for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of somatic diseases and obstetric complications in women at risk. New knowledge will improve the quality of care during pregnancy and childbirth and reduce maternal and perinatal mortality rates.

In addition, cooperation has been established with specialists from St. Petersburg to organize joint scientific research, telemedicine, visits of Russian specialists to Uzbekistan, and internships on an ongoing basis.

Upon return, the course participants will organize a series of cascade trainings to familiarize doctors at regional, city and district level institutions with new knowledge. In addition, the simulation training technologies used during the course will be practiced in the training center of the State Institution “RSNPMCZMiR”.

As part of the trip there was also a visit to the St. Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University and its Federal Clinic. The parties agreed on cooperation - joint scientific research and exchange of experience.

“We are ready to exchange best practices. Our Federal Clinic accepts the most complex patients from all regions of Russia. Our specialists have extensive experience in matters related to the organization of healthcare and patient routing. Behind the indicators lies an effective system that has been created and is functioning. And most importantly, these are real numbers of lives saved,” emphasized the vice-rector of St. Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University Yuri Petrenko.

During the meeting, it was also noted that the Pediatric University is already implementing joint educational programs with Uzbekistan, and teachers of the Russian university are ready to conduct training cycles for doctors in Uzbekistan and exchange valuable experience accumulated by both sides.
