Special company founded in Uzbekistan to realize hydroeconomic projects
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Specialized company Uzmahsussuvqurilish (Uzbek Special Water Construction) was created in Uzbekistan to implement construction-assembly work on important hydroeconomic projects in the country, local media reported.

Gazeta.uz reported that the enterprise was founded by the Ministry of Agriclture and Water Management of Uzbekistan and on the bases of Bektemirdavsuvmahsuspudrat in line with the resolution of the government.

New company will finance its activity itself through contract on construction-assembly works in important hydroeconomic objects in Uzbekistan.

The resolution said the enterprise will purchase special equipment and tools through Uzmeliomashleasing and through direct contracts with suppliers.

Uzbekistan government started to implement 11 irrigation projects with total cost of US$187.2 million in 2009.

The projects will be realized due to loans of international financial institutions, including OPEC Fund, SCO soft loans, as well as Chinese government.

Within the programme, it is planned to reconstruct and construct 12 pump stations, 580 km of lodgement, 233 km of drainage networks and six hydroengineering objects.

This year, the government should develop 17 investment projects on modernization and reconstruction of hydroeconomic objects with total cost of US$952 million. International financial institutes act as co-investors of these projects.
