State-run Korea Resources Corp. plans to jointly produce 400 metric tonnes of uranium annually with an Uzbek company in Uzbekistan from 2011, the Seoul Economic Daily reported, citing the Korean company.
Korea Resources, or Kores, recently confirmed a reserve of 15,000 tons of uranium in a mine in Navoi, located in the country’s midwest, the newspaper said.
Kores plans to set up a joint venture with an unidentified Uzbek company by December to develop the mine, it said.
