South Korea may issue US$250m to Uzbekistan in 2014-2017
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
The Republic of Korea is planning to provide US$250 million to Uzbekistan through the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) in 2014-2017.
First deputy Prime-Minister of Uzbekistan - Minister of Finance Rustam Azimov and South Korean Finance Minister Hyun Oh-seok held a meeting in Seoul on 18 December 2013 within the second Korea-Uzbekistan Finance Ministers’ Meeting.
After the talks, South Korea will work as quickly as possible to sign a new EDCF framework arrangement for 2014-2017. It is planned that South Korea will provide US$250 million to Uzbekistan.
In the results of the talks, South Korea pledged US$100 million for Uzbekistan’s National Children’s Hospital and US$14 million for a national electronic library.
