Some defendants in the Doc-1 Max case received prison sentences

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 February, the verdict in the Doc-1 Max case was announced in Tashkent.

Indian citizen, director of Quranax Medical LLC Singh Raghvendra Prathar was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Former director of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency Sardor Kariev was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

Deputy heads of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency Amirkhan Azimov and Nodirbek Musayev were sentenced to 16 years in prison.

All of them will serve their sentences in general regime colonies.

At the end of 2022, 69 children died after consuming Doc-1 Max syrup. The number of defendants in this case is 23 people.

Test results showed that the level of ethylene glycol in Doc-1 Max exceeded the norm by 300 times. Instead, the composition should have contained propylene glycol (a food additive with a bactericidal effect).
