Some 625.1bn soums directed to housing construction in 1Q 2011
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Out of the total volume of investments utilized in the non-production sphere of Uzbekistan in the first quarter of 2011, about 625.1 billion soums or 64% of their volume were used in housing construction.

In January-March 2011, the volume of utilized investments in fixed capital in Uzbekistan in dollar equivalent made up US$1.97 billion or grew by 7.5% year-on-year, the State Statistics Committee said.

In January-March 2011 the volume of utilized investments in fixed capital in national currency was 3.276 trillion soums.

Some 2.3 trillion soums of investments (70.2% of their total volume) were used in production branches of the economy, and 976 billion soums (29.8%) – in non-production branches.

In January-March 2011, 13,100 buildings or 13,300 apartments with the total space of 1.642million square meters (+3% year-on-year), including 1.243 million square meters (+14.3%) of the rural area, were built and put into operation.

In line with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 3 August, 2009 №PP-1167 “On additional measures for expanding scales of housing construction in the rural area”, in January-March 2011 134 dwellings with the space of 15,400 square meters were built and put into operation in the rural area, 135.7 billion soums of investments were utilized for their construction, including credits of Qishloq Qurilish Bank – 32.8 billion soums or 24.2% of their total volume.

Out of the total investments utilized in the non-production sphere 72.4 billion soums (7.4% of their total) were used in construction of education establishments, 46.8 billion soums (4.8%) – in communal construction, 66 billion soums (68%) - in construction of medical establishments.

Over 47 billion soums of investments were used for construction and reconstruction of academic lyceums and vocational colleges, which made up 0.5% of investments in the non-production sphere and 6.5% of investments in education.

Some 24.9 billion soums of investments were used for new construction and capital reconstruction of hospitals and out-patient departments, 1,9 billion soums – for construction and capital reconstruction of other health care projects, which made up 37,3% and 2,9% respectively of investments in public health.

About 20.9 billion soums were used for construction of water-supply networks, of which 6.8 billion soums – budgetary funds (32.5% of their total volume), 10.2 billion soums - foreign investments and credits (48.8%), 2,4 billion soums – means of population (11.5%); 2.6 billion soums were used for construction of gas networks, of which 2,6 billion soums (100,0%) - means of population.

In January-March 2011, construction works were fulfilled for 1.501 trillion soums, or grew by 0.9% year-on-year.

Out of the total volume of construction works 81.1% fell on new construction, reconstruction, expansion and technical re-equipment of enterprises, 15.8% – on capital and current repair and 3.1% – on other contract works.
