The report said about 33,800 apartments with total space of 4.007 million square meters in January-June 2009 or up 1.7% year-on-year. About 2.861 million square meters were constructed in rural areas, up 13% year-on-year.

About 296.7 billion soums of investments were used for new construction and capital reconstruction of general education schools, which made up 17% of investments in the non-production sphere and 36.8% of investments in education.

Out of the total investments used for new construction and capital reconstruction of general education schools, means of the school education fund amounted to 89.9% and that of the fund for children sports development - 8.8%.

Some 451.6 billion soums of investments were used for construction and reconstruction of academic lyceums and vocational colleges, which made up 25.9% of investments in the non-production sphere and 56% of investments in education.

About 40.7 billion soums were directed for construction of water-supply networks, of which 9.5 billion soums - budgetary funds (23.4% of their total volume), 5.3 billion soums - means of population (13%), 23.6 billion soums - foreign investments and credits (57.9%); 4.7 billion soums were used for construction of gas networks (at the expense of means of population).

In the reporting period, construction works were fulfilled for 3.128 trillion soums, or grew by 32.5% year-on-year.

Out of the total volume of construction works, about 81.7% fall to new construction, reconstruction, expansion and technical re-equipment of enterprises, 14.6% - to capital and current repair and 3.7% - upon other contract works.
