State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said that the greatest number of enterprises and institutions (excluding private farms) was registered in trade and catering (26.1% of total registered enterprises), agriculture (20.8%), industry (13%) and construction (7.5%).
In total number of registered enterprises, the share of enterprises with non-state form of ownership was 92.5%, of which 50.7% - private and dekhkan farms, 20.9% – private enterprises, 0.9% – enterprises with participation of foreign capital, and 20% – other enterprises.
The number of newly registered enterprises and institutions was 34,300 in January-September 2011. Their significant number was marked in the city of Tashkent (15.8% of total registered enterprises in the republic), Kashkadarya region (15%), Fergana region (8.5%), Tashkent region (8.4%), and Samarkand region (6.7%).
In the sectoral structure of newly registered enterprises, about 21,8% fell to share of trade and catering, 29% - agriculture and 19.1% - industry.
In the reporting period, 19,000 enterprises and institutions were liquidated in Uzbekistan, out of which 4,900 were liquidated voluntarily.
In the sectoral structure of liquidated enterprises, about 31.8% fell to share of trade and catering companies, 23.5% - agriculture and 14% – industry.
