Some 4m tonnes of freight transported Angren Logistic Center
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Over 4 million tonnes of cargo has been shipped through International Logistic Center in Angren city in 2010, the Uzbek President said on Friday at the session of the government. He said that the center also helped connect regions of Uzbekistan with Ferghana Valley with automobile transport.

Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan held the session on 21 January 2011 to discuss social-economic development in 2010 and important priorities of economic programme in 2011.

Speaking at the session, President noted that it is necessary to adopt measures on further developing of the center, which was created in 2010. He said that over 5 million tonnes of cargo should be transported through the Angren Logistic Center in 2011.

Islam Karimov underlined that the Government should realize a complex of measures on increasing its capacity on processing cargo containers and further equipment of MAN trucks, produced in Samarkand Automobile Plant.

International Logistics Center has been commissioned in Angren, Tashkent region of Uzbekistan. The center was created on the base of Ablyk railway station.

The center was created to accept and process freights and their transportation to Andijan, Namangan and Ferghana region with help of motor transport.

The Government of Uzbekistan adopted decision to stop railway transportation of cargo to these three regions from other parts of Uzbekistan via Tajikistan, which should promote to develop the center.
