Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Marketing research in the United States showed that the first trial batch of Uzbek Husayni grapes exported to the United States aroused great interest among American consumers, Dunyo news agency reported.

One ton of grapes, first delivered to New York from Altyaryk district of Ferghana region in early November of this year, was completely sold out by local consumers in two days. Negotiations were held on the supply of a new, larger batch. As a result, an additional export contract was signed between E.L.A. Superior Produce Inc." (USA) and Serakhun LLC (Ferghana region) in the amount of $2 million.

According to the contract, 250 tons of grapes from Ferghana will be delivered by plane to New York for regular sale in NetCost food shopping centers.

Currently, Uzbek diplomats are actively working to export dried fruits from Uzbekistan to the USA and Canada.
