During his address to the parliament of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev criticized the Ministry of Finance. The head of Uzbekistan said that he will not sign the state budget for 2018, until it is revised.

"I will sign the budget, which will make life easier for the people. Let’s make every person rich, people pay taxes. If we scamper them, how will they pay taxes?"Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

On 22 December 2017, the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan fired 16 people, UzA said.

Among them - two chiefs of the main directorates, two deputy chiefs of the main directorates, four heads of directorates, one deputy head of the department, three chiefs and four department employees.

Later, eight more were dismissed and the total number of fired workers reached 24 people.
