Some 18,500 tonnes of cargo transported through Navoi airport

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Over 18,500 tonnes of cargo were transported through Navoi airport and some 672 cargo flights were carried out in nine months of 2010, which is three times up year-on-year, a publication of the Ministry of Economy and the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

The publication said that Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways) launched regular freight flights in five directions from Navoi to large logistic centers in Europe and Asia with using A-300 airplanes.

The Government of Uzbekistan in cooperation with Korean Air created International inter-modal logistic center at the Navoi international airport.

The Center is used as trans-continental forwarding hub, uniting Eastern and Southern Eastern Asia with Europe, Middle East and the CIS countries.
