Famous actors and actresses, painters, musicians, writers, journalists, bloggers, political workers, UN officials, representatives of the NGOs, business structures and others participated at the event.

The summit was launched in New York and continued with online events in China and Kenya. The summit was organized by the UNDP, Ericsson, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Mashable.

Youth of Uzbekistan also participated at the event, which was organized by the UN Information Office and the UNDP at support of Sharq Telecom. It was titled “How social media and technologies help to solve problems in your society”.

The youth in four group discussed how social media impacted their lives and how their impacted their lives. Uzbek youth noted that the social media is a tool to express their thoughts and access to educational, informational and entertainment resources.
