Smallest turnover registered at UzSE on Friday
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 November, total trade turnover at the Uzbekistan Stock Exchange “Tashkent” (UzSE) made US$589.78. This is the smallest turnover for the last several months. All five securities traded on the day were in red. Investor activity is so low that only stocks of minor stockholders were purchased recently at UzSE.

Perhaps, these stockholders are loosing faith in stock exchange due to the world financial crisis. Common stocks of Kashkadaryo parmalash ishlari and Toshneftegazkurilish (Tashkent oil and gas construction) continue to fall. For the last 3-4 trading days stocks of these issuers had daily price falls of almost 25%.

The reporting day was not an exception. According to the results of the trading day common stocks of Kashkadaryo parmalash ishlari and Toshneftegazkurilish fell in price by 25% each. Securities of Kashkadaryo parmalash ishlari were traded at US$3.69, which is 5.03 times higher than its face value.

The reporting day’s quotes of Toshneftegazkurilish are US$0.29, which is 3.90 times higher than its face value. According to the opinion of Essential Investments’ analysts, such a huge fall on these securities, had been observed during the last several days, will continue until their market value equals or comes closer to their face value.

No quote growth on any of securities was registered during the day. There were also no deals on purchasing of significant stock holdings (more than 1% of authorized capital). The largest holding purchased by investors during the day was 0.47% of Fargona ulgurji savdo. Investors acquired 405 common stocks (0.42% of authorized capital) and 52 preferred stocks.

Though total turnover didn’t exceed US$600, the analysts of Essential Investments anyway will analyze the trading structure in the context of economic sectors. Trading sector made 32.45% of total market turnover, oil and gas sector and financial sector made 24% each of total turnover.
