Representatives of international financial organizations, UNDP, German Development Bank (КfW), GIZ, JICA, KOICA, credit organizations, funds and others participated at the work of roundtable.
Small and private businesses are important for development of the country. Uzbekistan creates all necessary measures to develop the sector. According to the Central Bank, the small businesses received over 3.748 trillion soums of loans in January-November 2011, which grew by 1.5 times year-on-year. In 2011-2015, it is planned to increase the volume of issued credits to small banks by 2.7 times. The government creates favourable business environment and improve quality of financial services.
According to official data, share of small businesses and private entrepreneurship in GDP of Uzbekistan makes up 54% and the sector provides jobs to 74% of active population.
At the same time, it was said that there is still need to lift small businesses to new level and provide additional preferences in condition of firm competition in the global markets.
During the roundtable, foreign partners briefed the participants on their ongoing projects in Uzbekistan and future plans. Local financial institutions had chance to familiarize with projects of international financial institutions directed at developing small businesses and exchanged opinion on expanding mutual beneficial cooperation.
