Robert Vittek scored two goals to give lead for Slovakia, while Antonio Di Natale to pull a goal back nine minutes from time. Kamil Kopunek scored Slovakia’s third in the final minute and Fabio Quagliarella to respond almost immediately to cut Slovakia lead.

In the other match of Group F, Paraguay played a draw with New Zealand to top the group with five points. Slovakia has four points and New Zealand – 3. Italy was fourth with just two points.
