Sky Camp Bo’stonliq 2024 mountain sports festival concludes

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 29 and 30 June 2024, the Sky Camp Bo’stonliq 2024 mountain sports festival took place in the Bostanlik district, part of the international charity marathon series Samarkand Marathon.

The two-day sports festival featured a diverse program. Participants and guests enjoyed mountain road cycling races, trail runs covering distances of 10 and 20 km, skyrunning, running, yoga, meditation, and plogging. The first day concluded with a grand concert by the band Tesla Boy. All events took place against the backdrop of the incredible nature and views of Amirsay.

Results:

Sky Camp BIKE - Timur Koreshkov won the mountain road cycling race over a distance of 13.5 km with an elevation gain of 691 m among men in 38:14.4, while Kristina Ivanova won among women in 47:30.1.

Sky Camp TRAIL - Vladislav Mamedov won the men’s 10 km trail run with an elevation gain of 619 m in 52:36, and Marina Khmelevskaya won the women’s category in 1:03:08. In the 20 km trail run with an elevation gain of 1239 m, Rafael Zinurov won among men in 2:06:22, and Albina Kazaryan won among women in 2:52:06.

Sky Camp PEAK - In the skyrunning event from the lower to the upper station of Amirsay over 4.2 km with an elevation gain of 724 m, Shahboz Tursunov and Shahrom Abdurakhmonov finished hand in hand among men with a time of 38:42.2 and 38:42.3 respectively, while Marina Khmelevskaya won among women in 43:50.8.

Additionally, the overall winners in the PEAK category among men and women set a new record, surpassing the previous one set in 2021.

Participants of the ZEN race were not awarded by categories but received commemorative medals for their participation in Sky Camp Bo’stonliq 2024.

The Sky Camp TRAIL track was certified by the International Trail Running Association (ITRA), marking it as the first certified trail in Uzbekistan where participants earned ITRA points.

A significant number of participants supported the ecological initiative of plogging, which took place both days of Sky Camp Bo’stonliq 2024. Understanding the importance of leaving nature untouched, guests of the mountain sports festival joined in the trash collection run. On the second day, the number of participants in this activity tripled.

On 29 June, after the main program, the band Tesla Boy performed a concert. Anton Sevidov and his project Tesla Boy played their stylish electro-pop for the guests and participants of Sky Camp Bo’stonliq 2024.
