Ski resort "Amirsoy" created in Tashkent region

 Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 17 December, a press conference on the opening of the modern ski resort "Amirsoy" was held.

The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Abduhakimov, operating director of the Andorran company PGI management Thomas Tor-Jensen, deputy general director of JV LLC Amirsoy Kim V.V.

The Deputy Prime Minister provided detailed information on the implementation of the project in the Tashkent region of the Bostanlyk region of the Amirsoy ski complex.

Thomas Thor-Jensen announced detailed information on the use of the most advanced and innovative technologies in the construction of ski slopes and cable cars.

Deputy General Director of JV Amirsoy LLC Kim V.V. gave detailed information about the preparatory work for the winter sports, as well as cultural events planned for the opening on 21 December.

During the press conference, the audience was informed about the phased implementation of the project.

According to the order of the Government from 14 September 2017, it is planned the effective use and further development of the tourist potential of Chimgan resort in Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region, wide familiarization of local and foreign tourists with the unique nature and mountain landscape of the region, as well as the construction of an international ski resort.

As the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Abdukhakimov noted in his speech, the mountain resort of Amirsoy is located on 892 hectares and is designed for 580 places. The project envisages the creation of 300 new jobs, the total cost of the project is US$100.0 million. The first phase of the project is planned to be completed in the IV quarter of this year, and the second stage in the III quarter of 2022. Amirsay ski resort is one of the largest and most expected tourist facilities under construction in Uzbekistan.

The project is the first mountain resort in the country to serve customers comfortably, safely and with quality that meets world requirements, said A. Abduhakimov.

The resort project will be implemented in three stages. There is no doubt that this resort will become one of the largest recreation areas in our country. Because a convenient infrastructure and excellent service will become his hallmark. The resort has 2 cable cars with a total length of 3 km. and 8 ski slopes of varying difficulty with a total length of 10 km.

In addition, ski resorts have a winter cable car with a total length of 21.93 km, with a capacity of 2400 people per hour.

The cable car was built by the Austrian company “Doppelmayr Seibahnen GmbH”. It has 28 relief tracks with various difficulties. The resort will be equipped with modern infrastructure and service.

Under the supervision of experts from Argentina, Spain and Denmark, ski tracks of varying difficulty were built with a length of 15 km. Four of them start at the highest point of the resort, and the longest track is 3,550 meters.

For beginners, a special area was built where there are 5 conveyor-type elevators. And also, 40 wooden chalet-style houses, 3 restaurants, a sports school, a universal center for skiing and other equipment rental and a helipad were built.

An entertainment area has been created near this area, which includes tubing, hiking, special tours for walking in the snow, sleigh rides and ATVs. Separate zones have also been created for a special children’s playground.

Amirsoy Ski Resort will become a leading recreation center in Central Asia and will be implemented on the basis of European and international standards.
