Sixth Annual American Film Festival to be held in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
The US Embassy in Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the National Agency Uzbekkino, is organizing the Sixth Annual American Film Festival from 20 September to 22 September 2013 at the Cinema “Alisher Navoi” (also known as Panorama Cinema).
The US Embassy in Tashkent said that the theme of this year’s Film Festival is “Across the U.S.A.” The selected movies depict different US states, their unique aspects of American culture, and overall US values, traditions and customs.
Prior to each viewing, a quiz about American culture will be conducted and books and DVDs awarded to those who answer the questions correctly.
The film viewings are scheduled as follows:
Friday, September 20
19:00 The Grapes of Wrath (drama, in English and Russian subtitles, in English with English subtitles)
Saturday, September 21
12:00 New York New York (musical, in English with English subtitles)
15:00 Shane (western, in English with English subtitles)
18:00 O Brother Where Art Thou? (comedy, in English with English subtitles)
Sunday, September 22
12:00 An American Tail: Fievel Goes West (cartoon, in English with English subtitles)
15:00 My Cousin Vinny (comedy, in English with English subtitles)
18:00 A River Runs Through It (family movie, in English and Russian subtitles)
